Klaxons To Record Footy Anthem
Written by Joanna Cole | Wednesday, October 17, 2007 |
Klaxons are reportedly planning to record a cover of the Tottenham Hotspur tune ‘Diamond Lights’ by former players Glen Hoddle and Chris Waddle back in 1987. The record got to number 12 in the chart back in ‘87.
The Sun announced that keyboard player James Righton is a fan of the North London club and wants to record the track as way of a tribute.
James, Mercury Music Prize-winner has also said that while playing for Leicester City Football club as a youngster, his love for Spurs probably cost him the chance to make it as a professional footballer at Leicester. He said: “I used to insist on wearing my Spurs kit. My dad told me I was probably annoying the club but I wouldn’t stop. They soon stopped playing me.”
