Staring At The Rude Bois (Gallows ft. Bizzle)
Written by Joanna Cole | Friday, November 16, 2007 |
This weeks cover of the week title goes to Gallows for their fantastic rendition of The Ruts track ‘Staring At The Rude Boys’.
The track released in 1980 is a favourite of most Ruts fans and will undoubtedly be the same for fans of the exciting new punk band, when they release the track on the 19th November. The track also features London rapper Lethal Bizzle who has also sampled The Ruts famous top 10 hit ‘Babylon’s Burning’ in his ‘Babylon’s Burning The Ghetto’ track for new album ‘Back To Bizznizz’.
There are so many bands out there today claiming to be ‘punk’ and quite frankly they just don’t cut it, they’re about as punk and Britney became when she covered ‘I Love Rock n Roll’. This band however encapsulates everything that was good about the punk era and filters out the shite. Their album ‘Orchester of Wolves’ exudes punk attitude while showcasing a real talent for making music which wasn’t always a priority.
