Interview with… Saving Aimee

Written by Vince Pettit | Sunday, December 16, 2007 |

Saving-AimeeIn the first of our new Past, Present and Future series of interviews we caught up with Tim, one of the six band members from Hertfordshire/London based pop rockers Saving Aimee.

The band have shared the stage with the likes of Enter Shakiri, Kill Hannah, Elliot Minor and supported McFly on 2 of their arena dates, and currently writing their debut album.

PAST

Briefly, how and when did you form?
The band formed nearly two years ago, out of the remains of two previous bands. I joined a while later, early this year.

Describe your style in 3 words
Poppy, Rocky, Fun!

How was your 2007?
- Highlights
Playing two arenas with McFly, to nearly 30,000 people in a weekend!

- Lowlights
Our first trip to Scotland, where 2 shows got cancelled, and over the other 4 shows, less than 50 people total came to see us.

Who has been your favourite band of 2007?
That’s a hard one! Either Kings of Leon, Mika or Sugababes. (I am very, very straight!)

PRESENT

What are you up to at the moment?
Just sorting out Christmas t-shirt orders, and replying to myspace messages… in a wider sense, we’re writing the album.

Who are you listening to at the moment?
The Radio 1 live 2 album, and the new Bedouin Soundclash album - Street Gospels

What do you do when you’re not playing out?
A lot of sleeping, a lot of films!

Where can people get your tunes?
At the moment, there’s a download off our myspace, and we have a free single coming out - hopefully at the end of january, with full TV/Radio - Boredom Often Leads to Depression.

FUTURE

What do you have planned for 2008?
An album, and a whole lot of touring!

Who do you think will be the next big thing in 2008?
Keep an eye out for Furthest Drive Home, and Kill Hannah. Check our top 8 for them!

What will be the next big thing in 2008 in terms of scene?
Yo-Yos. everything goes in cycles.
