Peacock Adds Ellen Page To Cast
Written by Vince Pettit | Friday, February 15, 2008 |
Oscar nominee Ellen Page has been added to the cast for the upcoming psychological thriller Peacock. The 20-year-old is set to star alongside 28 Days Later actor Cillian Murphy, which is slated to start filming in May this year.
Michael Lander is to make his directorial debut with the movie, with a script he wrote with Ryan Roy, who is also a newcomer to the industry.
Set in the tiny town of Peacock, Nebraska, Murphy will play a character with a split personality, who somehow fools the locals into believing his two personas are man and wife.
Murphy, who has a total of 3 films in post-production with release dates this year, including The Dark Knight where he resumes his role as Scarecrow, told Variety “Peacock stunned me as a script from start to finish, It offers an incredible challenge to an actor - one I couldn’t turn down.”
The announcement that Ellen Page is joining the cast brings the total to 3 films she has signed up for in the last 30 days!
The character she plays is a struggling young mother who holds the key to unlocking Murphy’s shady past, sparking a war between the two personalities.
