Mel B and Victoria Style Wars!

Written by Francesca Amber Sawyer | Wednesday, March 5, 2008 |

Mel BToday almost every celebrity seems to be associated with a brand of shoes, lingerie, swimwear, jeans, or accessories. They even lay claim to have a part in their designing whether or not they’ve ever been to fashion school, yes Katie Price, we mean you.

So it comes as no surprise that Mel B is the last celeb to jump on this admittedly lucrative band wagon and announce today that she’s launching her own fashion line. But going head-to-head with fellow Spice Girl Victoria Beckham is bound to cause ructions within the recently-reformed girl group.
Posh has had her own highly successful line of jeans for several years now made famous by the striking crown motif and even had a dalliance with Rock and Republic’s fashion lines. Now it seems Mel B’s eager to follow in her footsteps and the mother of-two has revealed to the Sunday Mirror that although it’s early stages she wants to set up her own fashion company. It appears she’ not interested in mearly campaigning for another brand, but rather wants to set up her own, and she wants to do something big now the Spice Girls tour is almost over.

What with both Spice Girls bringing out fashion lines at the same time there’s bound to be some rivalry - so bring on the Spice Girl style wars!

Well I never! Interesting article as this is first I’ve heard of this news. To be honest I don’t think that Mel B really has what it takes in the fashion stakes to out-do Mrs Beckham’s creations - she’s not exactly well known for her sense of style. I’d go back to having a solo career - I loved her Missy Elliot number one!
