Free New Festival Set To Blow Up A Storm
Written by Suzanne Bunce | Thursday, March 13, 2008 |
Tignes Fest is a brand new festival set in the Alps, and on top of that, it’s completely free. Taking place from April 17th – 20th April and curated by Eddy Temple Morris, The Loose Cannons and Kissy Sell Out, with acts such as Trash Fashion, Tokyoyoyo and Alex Metric already confirmed, Tignes Fest looks set to be a big hit.
Not only does this festival feature live bands, DJs, and exclusive acoustic sets, but you also have the opportunity to go skiing and snowboarding. Eddy Temple Morris has said about the festival: “Imagine if the kind of music I play on The Remix had its own ‘In The City’… now picture that city being a town on top of a snow covered mountain… It’s a nice picture isn’t it? You carve down a beautiful French mountain on a snowboard, then take your après ski with the Autokratz and Boy 8 Bit, and while you go nuts at a brilliant gig, your mates can hear it go out on Xfm and curse the fact they’re not there with you.”
Tignes Fest is aiming to support some of the best new and upcoming bands around, whilst also attempting to highlight the damaging effect that music piracy is having on the music industry.
