The increasingly popular Fashion Fringe has recently appointed Donatella Versace as their honorary chairperson. Donatella who succeeds Tom Ford following his two years as chairman, is proudly welcomed by Fashion Fringe

In an attempt to breathe new life into the British Fashion Industry, the Fashion Fringe was created in 2004 by Colin McDowell MBE, a well known and respected fashion historian and senior fashion writer.
One winner is chosen from four finalists to win the Fashion Fringe award, along with £100,000, business advice, support and intensive mentoring culminating in their presentation of a 12 look capsule collection shown during Fashion Week in September.

The Fashion Fringe has gone from strength to strength since its inception drawing in support from well established designers and sponsors alike, this year gaining DHL and American Express as sponsors.

Of Donatella’s appointment, McDowell wrote in last week’s Times on Sunday:
“We are pleased for many reasons, not least Versace’s well-known support for young designers in London. She is the perfect choice and will continue the tradition of commitment that we have already benefited from so much.”
