Cyclops Movie Coming… No X-Men to be Seen
Written by Ruari Burgham | Tuesday, March 18, 2008 |
Apologies to all you X-Men fans out there, but this Cyclops has absolutely nothing to do with troubled, laser-eyed mutant freak Scott Summers. James Mangold, whose recent offerings include Western remake ‘3.10 to Yuma‘ and Academy Award winning ‘Walk The Line‘ is set to go slightly off course with a sci-fi flick.
Cyclops is based on a graphic novel by Alexis Nolent in which mercenary soldiers are given Cyclops-style video cameras from which images of their battles are broadcast to not only commanding officers, but viewers sitting around their TV sets. Scary stuff. Mangold said to Variety magazine that the film has “great action sequences combined with themes that are eminently foreseeable”. More news as we get it.
