Clancy Hero Gets a New Lease on Life
Written by Ruari Burgham | Wednesday, March 19, 2008 |
Sam Raimi, who we all know as the director of the Spiderman movies, is currently in talks with Paramount about being the man to bring Jack Ryan back to our screens.
Jack is one of thriller writer Tom Clancy’s best loved characters, and has been portrayed by both Alec Baldwin and Harrison Ford (pictured) in the nineties, in classics such as ‘The Hunt For Red October‘ and ‘Patriot Games‘.
The last time we saw Jack, he was being played by Ben Affleck in 2002’s ‘The Sum Of All Fears‘. Paramount’s intention now is to get Raimi in on developing a series of films focusing on Ryan’s younger, formative years. If Raimi does indeed become Jack Ryan’s new boss, however, don’t expect to see anything until 2010, as Raimi is currently filming horror flick ‘Drag Me To Hell‘.
