KeaneKeane are currently recording their new album in Berlin with Madonna producer Stuart Price, and have revealed that they are aiming to make it as “tasteless and uncool” as possible. Lead singer Tom Chaplin has confirmed that around fifteen new songs have been written for the album.

According to the band’s pianist and songwriter, Tim Rice – Oxley, “The more tasteless and uncool we can make our music the better, and that only when you lose the fear of breaking the unwritten rules of musical etiquette can you make a really great album.”

In a post on the band’s website, www.keanemusic.com, Rice – Oxley also revealed that the band were once forced to stop rehearsing because they were making too much noise and disturbing neighbours: “Richard [Hughes, drummer] seemed deeply proud to have made enough noise to burst through the walls of a huge sound-proofed studio, especially since Rammstein were here not long ago and managed to provoke no such exploits.”

The follow up to the bands last release, “Under The Iron Sea”, looks set for a release in late 2008.
