Anton Yelchin has got a busy couple of years ahead of him as far as cult sci-fi goes. Not only is he taking on the role of Chekov in the upcoming J.J. Abrams Star Trek Movie, but he’ll be gracing our screens as Reese in the upcoming, fourth Terminator film.
The film (entitled Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins) is set during the war between human and machine, with Yelchin playing a teenage version of Reese, who was played by Michael Biehn in the first Terminator movie. Very, very confusing stuff.
Christian Bale will be playing John Connor, the luddite leader of the human revolt against the machines. Sadly, Arnie won’t be back for this one. The real nitty gritty of the story is so far fairly well covered, but expect some stunning action sequences. Yet another long wait, I’m afraid, with a start projected for May this year.
