The A TeamThe A-Team movie is starting to gather pace, after it has been announced that the release date for the movie will be 12th June 2009.

The big-screen adaption of the hit 80s TV series will be directed by John Singleton, who’s past movies include Boyz N The Hood and 2 Fast 2 Furious.

The movie will follow the exploits of John ‘Hannibal’ Smith and his team of former special forces soldiers, who have been set up for a crime they didn’t commit.

The only word on casting so far is that Singleton would like to see Woody Harrelson play ‘Howling Mad’ Murdoch.

Ok i am a huge A-Team fan and this film has got to be made i mean theyve made pretty much everything else fromt the 80’s series….but in all seriousness they need to make the film with a strong story line and of course a bit of humour….somewhere along the lines of Lethal Weapon style.

mel gibson as Hanable, playing it like he did in Paycheck.

The Rock as B.A, playing it like the rock.

Jim Carey as Murdock, playing it like he does.

And Brad Pitt as Face, playing like he does in The Mexican.

in response to nat’s original idea, it’s good, however the fact that george peppard ( original hannibal) died many years ago it may not work

Foolish Mr T Says: November 13th, 2008at 3:03 pm

Yea the divet that said get the original cast might wanna do a bit of research. First off, Peppard is long dead and secondly, even if he was alive, the chances of anyone working with him would have been slim as he was a total a-hole to everyone he worked with.

Anyway for me BA would be played by Tommy Lister, Face played by Chris Elwood, Hannibal played by Steve Martin and HM Murdock played by either Jim Carrey or Russell Brand.

B. Frater Says: November 19th, 2008at 1:07 am

I agree to some names given hear, Jim Carrey for murdock is a good match as he has proven he can act and still keep his humor, B.A should Be played by michael duncan as his lack of any real acting skill will suit a roll with few lines, jude law and brad pitt should never be considerd for the role as it would spoil this move i would say christian bail would be a better choice and then hannible should be played by an older actor like bruce willis, Mr connery or Mell Gibson

this is what i think to your suggestion’s
1) mel gibson as Hanable, playing it like he did in Paycheck. ok wrong lets face it mel dose nothing these days buy get drunk beat up prostetutes and take any drugs he can find.

2) The Rock as B.A, playing it like the rock. the only reason he would be considerd is if you were trying to promote the movie to all the different races around the world because lets face it the bloke has that many different parts to him i think hi was concived in a multi-cultural
gang bang
3) Jim Carey as Murdock, playing it like he does. ok good choice
.
4 )And Brad Pitt as Face, playing like he does in The Mexican. NO NO NO NO NO this man is a big pile of female dog poo with girl’s hair and big pits on his face, he can more act than i can, almost as bad as jude law a man with whome i have a deep deep hatered with, i can honestly say that i would rather cut my owne knackers out of my sack combined with both my left and right nipples fried in duck poo served on a plate of dead babies than watch that man play any role other than a corps.

PooStick Says: November 28th, 2008at 6:42 pm

Murdock - Jim Carey is going to have to play Murdock or they will have a lot of people not watch the movie. He is the only person alive who could undertake a role of such magnitude.

Face - Should either be played by Christian Bale or Tom Cruise. Face needs to have that cockiness, so I’d have to go with Cruise.

Hannibal - I would think Willis would be able to take the role, but I’m not sure. Remember, Hannibal is the master of disguise and to be able to match the level of acting Peppard did on the show.. if he could pull it off, would be an amazing feat.

BA - I would hope to see Mr. T play the role. I like the idea of The Rock however, he would be great.

I really hope they get the casting right. If anyone has ever seen the pilot episode of the A-Team, they had different actors, and the show was not really that good. As soon as they switched in the right combination of actors, the show was amazing. The cast will be the most important part of this film.
