Jay - Z set to sign new $150 million record deal
Written by Suzanne Bunce | Thursday, April 3, 2008 |
It has been reported that Jay-Z (real name Shawn Carter) is to leave his current record label Def Jam to sign a mega - bucks deal with Live Nation.
The new record deal will cover all of the work that Jay-Z does for the next ten years, including recordings, tours and entertainment ventures. It appears that Live Nation are funding a new company called Roc Nation, and this will take care of all Jay-Z’s business projects.
Madonna has previously signed a $120 million deal with Live Nation, and U2 have also confirmed that they have signed a 12 year deal with the label, also reported to be worth $120 million.
The Wall Street Journal reports that Jay-Z’s deal is to be finalised within the next week.
