Beatles exhibition comes to Liverpool

Written by Suzanne Bunce | Sunday, April 6, 2008 |

A new Beatles exhibition called “The Beatles! Backstage and Behind the Scenes” is coming to The Beatles Story Museum in Liverpool this Friday (April 4th).

The exhibition gives insight into when the band appeared on The Ed Sullivan Show in 1964. It was their first ever North American appearance and over 73 million people watched the show.

The Managing Director of the Beatles Story, Jerry Goldman, said “The images in this award-winning exhibition represent the very best of sixties photojournalism and show the Beatles at a pivotal moment in their career. We are hugely excited to welcome this exclusive and award winning exhibition to the Beatles Story for its UK premier.”

The pictures in the exhibition are taken from the archive of CBS Television and from Bill Eppridge, a “Life” photographer.

The exhibition is running from April 4th - April 15th. It was previously held in Washington, where around 3 million people visited it.
