Foals want to avoid media attention
Written by Suzanne Bunce | Monday, April 7, 2008 |
Lead singer of Foals, Yannis Philippakis, has said that the band have started thinking inwards and have begun getting back to being recluses since their album stormed into the number 3 spot of the British Album Charts. The bands debut, titled “Antidotes”, was released on March 24th this year, and shot the band into the limelight.
Philippakis told the Daily Star, “The problem with being in a band like that, with this level of intensity, is you get severed from your real life. You become detached from all those personal experiences that you initially made music from, it’s important to settle down and get back to a different place.” He added that he doesn’t want the band to lose their roots and forget where they started from.
Foals are currently touring Europe. They will head to America at the end of this month, before visiting the rest of the world and finally completing the mammoth tour in the UK later this year. Go to www.myspace.com/foals for more information on tour dates.
