Johnny Borrell To Play Murder Victim
Written by Suzanne Bunce | Monday, April 7, 2008 |
Razorlight frontman Johnny Borrell is set to star in the new Irvine Welsh movie, playing a poor Irish singer who will become the victim of a brutal murder committed by two grave robbers.
The movie, which will be called “The Meat Trade“, is based on the story of the Westport Murders, and will be set in modern day Edinburgh, despite the original events being set in the 19th century. The grave robbers who kill Borrell will be played by Colin Firth and Robert Carlyle.
Borrell told the Daily Star: “It’s going to be so much fun. I love horror and I’m a really big fan of Irvine Welsh’s work. I loved Trainspotting.”
