Marc Ronson And Hot Chip Join GCSSS

Gatecrasher Summer Sound System is returning this year on May 24th and 25th with a dazzling line up. Taking place at Turweston Aerodrome, Northamptonshire, with 60,000 fans expected to attend, 200 live DJs, 20 live bands, and 20 arenas, this is set to be the biggest electronic event in the UK this year. And if the Gatecrasher 2008 line up wasn’t already looking good enough, now two of the biggest artists from the last year have been added to the list – Mark Ronson and Hot Chip.
Mark Ronson has established himself over the last 12 months as a top writer, producer, and performer, and having well and truly made his mark on both the US and UK music scenes, he will be at Gatecrasher to perform a live DJ set on the Sunday night. Ronson’s live shows are definitely a must – see event – they blend classic funk, soul and hip hop, and throw in a bit of modern pop, rock n roll and indie for good measure. Ronson’s debut album, the double platinum selling “Version”, was released last year and this ensured Ronson walked away with the award for Best Male Artist at the 2008 Brits. Ronson’s DJ set will include an assortment of his hit singles and classic songs, and will see him performing on the brand new Zane Lowe stage, in what will be one of his biggest festival slots so far.
Hot Chip are another band who have made a mark on the UK music scene in the last year. With their addictive top 10 hit, “Ready For The Floor” filling dancefloors everywhere, the five – piece electro – pop outfit will be hitting the Main Stage at Summer Sound System. Hot Chip received a Mercury Prize nomination for their second album in 2006, and their third album “Made In The Dark” crashed into the number 4 spot of the British album charts in February this year. Hot Chips live set in truly unmissable for anyone who wants to see their interactive live mixes and reinventions of their album tracks. Their appearance at Gatecrasher is also their first festival appearance of the year.
Gatecrasher Summer Sound System is the first major festival of the year and is set to get the festival season going with a bang. With something to satisfy music tastes from indie to dance to urban, Gatecrasher definitely has one of the most exciting festival line ups of the year, and is set to be an incredible event.
