REM Steal No. 1 Album Spot From Duffy
Written by Suzanne Bunce | Monday, April 7, 2008 |
REM managed to end Duffy’s four week reign of the album chart yesterday (April 6th), with their new album “Accelerate” knocking Duffy’s “Rockferry” off the top spot.
Other new entries in the album chart this week came from Estelle, with her album “Shine” entering the chart at number 6, Gnarls Barkley, whose new album “The Odd Couple” is at number 19, and The Black Keys, who slid into the top 40 at number 34 with their album “Attack & Release“.
Estelle’s collaboration with Kanye West, “American Boy“, has hung onto the number one spot in the singles chart for a third week. New entries this week came from The Kooks, whose new single “Always Where I Need To Be” stormed into the Top Ten at number 3, whilst Mariah Carey entered the chart at number 6 with her track “Touch My Body”.
