Today, readers, this writer is disappointed. Bryan Singer’s upcoming movie ‘Valkyrie‘ was set to be the absolute movie highlight of 2008 and now its been pushed back to February 13th for its release. Singer, and MGM studios, assure us that the change in release date is for the best-Singer apparently needs to finish shooting (which, I suppose, is a decent enough reason to not release a movie).
Say MGM: “When an opening became available for President’s day weekend, we seized the opportunity. Having seen a lot of the film and how great it is going to play once it’s finished, moving into a big holiday weekend is the right move.”
The movie itself stars the magnificent Tom Cruise as Claus von Stauffenberg, a player in a plot to assassinate Adolf Hitler. Other highlights in the star-studded cast include Kenneth Branagh and Bill Nighy.
