Dead Air (Rainy Orteca of Joan As Police Woman) is releasing her self-titled debut EP on April 21st. Orteca is a self - taught guitarist and has previously worked with acts such as Antony & the Johnsons, Lou Reed, and Lloyd Cole, in addition to playing bass for Joan As Police Woman.
Wrapped in Philip K. Dick guitars, low - end Baudrillard bass, sexy vocals and scratchy panoramics, this EP gives you glimpses of the frantic birth and death of love and long - distance lust.
The debut single from the EP, “Tin Drum”, has an atmospheric quality which remains constant throughout the rest of the EP, which as a whole is a magical collection of lustful storytelling from another time and place, with the stories being related by a voice so gentle that it will make you come undone.
Dead Air will be touring the UK this April. Dates are:
22 The Wilmington, London (with MADAM)
23 The Slaughtered Lamb, London (co - headlining with MADAM)
24 Earmusic @ Monkey Chews, London (with MADAM)
25 BBC 6 Manchester, Manchester
27 The Cross Kings, London (co - headlining with MADAM)
