Wim Wenders‘ 1974 road movie classic ‘Alice in the Cities‘ is finally set for a DVD release for the first time EVER in the UK. Alice in the Cities was one of the key movies of the new-German cinema movement, a movement often compared to the French new wave of cinema of the sixties.

The movie itself focuses on reporter Phil Winter finding himself stuck with a young girl named Alice, who is on the hunt to find her estranged grandmother, with only a mysterious photograph of a front door to help. The upcoming release of the movie on DVD (which is hitting shelves on the 26th of May) has sparked a plethora of shining reviews- The Guardian call it “more distinctive than ever” and give it a sweet four star review. Other reviews are calling it “essential” and “enchanting”.

The DVD itself houses a number of bonus features, including interviews with director Wim Wenders and stars of the movie, as well as an exclusive booklet.
