26th May sees the massively critically acclaimed Italian movie ‘Libero‘ finally come to DVD in this country. Libero, directed by Italian-Scottish director Kim Rossi Stuart, is the story of a dysfunctional Italian family seen through the eyes of 11 year old Alessandro Morace (in a screen debut which has been described as ‘extraordinary’).
Critics have been calling the movie “gorgeous”, “heartbreaking”, and “outstanding”, and not one of the star ratings drops below four out of five. Many are even calling it a modern update on the French and Italian neo-realism of Godard and Fellini. The DVD, out 26th May, includes interviews and a behind the scenes glimpse at the filming of the movie.
