Kent Music Festival Set To Rock Zoo!

With the demise of Electric Gardens it looked like Kent had been robbed of a major festival. That was until Zoo Thousand And Eight Music Festival (Z008) was announced for 4th-6th July.

Other than the BBC Radio 1 Big Weekend, this is the only major festival to be held in Kent with Lounge On The Farm catering more of the up and coming bands.

Mark Ronson brings along The Version Players with his unique sound that has been conquering the charts in the last year. The Cribs headline the main stage on the Saturday with Athlete taking charge on the Sunday.

Along with the top acts this festival has a uniqueness about it to set it apart from the other music festivals…it’s taking place at the Port Lympne Wild Animal Park, yes you heard me…its happening in a ZOO!! (for those who are worrying about the welfare of the animals, worry no longer, they will be kept away safely from the main festival, with festival visitors having access to the Animal Park at a reduced price.

With a 20,000 capacity, free camping and parking (for those who have 3 or more people in your car) this looks to be a winner, £99 for the whole weekend and £45 for the day, it makes a change to have a decent priced festival!

Other notable acts for the weekend include Dizzee Rascal, Ash, Funeral For A Friend, Lethal Bizzle, Does It Offend You Yeah?, Roni Size, Hadouken and more!

For the dance fans Bloc Party will be performing a DJ set on the Friday along with Freemasons, Bodyrox, Seb Fontaine and Vula (of Bassment Jaxx). Saturday will see a Pendulum DJ set, Andy C 2 hour set, Friction, Goldie, Fabio and lots more! Sunday is headed up by MSTRKRFT who are joined by Switch, Stanton Warriors and Dish favourites Evil Nine (plus loads more!)

With arenas from Tap’n'Tin and Suburban Kings still to be announced Z008 looks to be a great weekend away for indie, dance, UK hip-hop, Drum & Bass fans alike.
