Past, Present and Future : Big Ben

5th July sees East Anglia’s biggest Electronic music festival, Dance Island hit the region, we spoke to Big Ben, who aside from promoting BIG, producing tunes with the likes of Gaz West aka DarkByDesignDJ-X (Lab4) and , running BIG Recordings, has been at the forefront of bringing Dance Island to East Anglia.
Past
Briefly, how and when did you get into the music scene?
I got into the music scene through Djing, and putting on my own parties… They just got bigger!

Melodic, Hard, Energetic
How was 2008 been so far?
Very busy! … Ive only done a handful of club dates as im organising a new outdoor festival

DJ -Paul Wilkerson, Lee Haslam & Mauro Picotto
Producers - DJ X, Dan Stone & Will Atkinson

What are you up to at the moment?
I’m putting the last pieces together for Dance Island in a couple of weeks
Who are you listening to at the moment?
The radio! Make sure the adverts are going out!
What do you do when you’re not gigging?
At the moment trying and catch up with emails and paperwork, generally im usually promoting or doing studio stuff…

Future
What do you have planned for the rest of 2008?
After Dance Island I will be setting up digitalBIG, which is taking over from BIG Recordings and planning the BIG Halloween Ball 2008!
Who do you think will be the next big thing this year?
- DJ – Well Kutski is still on the rise, and DJ X
- Producer – There’s so many to choose from, Dan Stone, Will Atkinson, Ali Wilson, Vandall
