Past, Present and Future : Dylan Rhymes

We caught up with Dylan Rhymes, a man that has been on the music scene since 1988 and is still here now, showing the up and coming djs and producers how it is done!

Past

Briefly, how and when did you get into the music scene?

I got into the scene back in 1988 after buying my first sequencer + keyboards from a work friend that was leaving the country

Rolling Tech Funk

How was 2008 been so far?

2008 has been great so far what with my forthcoming album nearly completed and gigs have been fantastic especially in the States

Who has been your favourite DJs and producers of 2008?

Dj/Producers who are killing it this year for me are Lee Coombs, Will Bailey. 30hz, Wolfgang Gartner, Rogue Element, Oliver Hunteman and Pablo Decoder to mention a few

Present

What are you up to at the moment?

Finishing my album + gigging is my whole life right now. I have a stack of remixs to do also which I’m getting through slowly

Who are you listening to at the moment?

I dont really listen to music as my ears are beat everyday from the studio but when I do I tend to listen older more chilled stuff like Air or Massive Attack.

What do you do when you’re not gigging?

I spend time with my son and try to relax but work stuff always tends to get in the way

Future

What do you have planned for the rest of 2008?

Getting my Album ready and planning the release + promotion along with running LOT 49 and getting some great releases out there from our stable of fantastic producers.
