It seems the Brooklyn is the place to be for up and coming bands this year, so we spoke to Zac from Brooklyn based Jupiter One, a band that will be hitting the UK very soon.
They will also be releasing their single Platform Moon on 7th July and their debut eponymous album on 14th July on Cordless Recordings.

Briefly, how and when did you get into the music scene?
I was born into music. My Dad’s a sax player and there were musicians around a lot. The rest of the guys have also been musicians since early on. We don’t have any of those ‘i dropped out of art school cuz my friends needed a singer’ types that make for such a good story.

How was 2008 been so far?
Pretty awesome actually since we spent a good deal of it on the road. That’s our favorite thing to do- play every night. Also, we’ve written another record in the meantime. So, phew!
Who has been your favourite bands of 2008?
That’s too hard to answer. I’ll definitely say we’ve listened to a few new ones in our van relentlessly – LCD Soundsystem, Spoon, Sound Team (new EP), The Presets, Gnarles Barkley, Neon Neon, Foals, Does It Offend You Yeah?, Sigur Ros, Travis, Air, Your Vegas, The Beatles, Shuggie Otis… plus some great Brooklyn bands like Apes and Androids, The Naked Hearts, the Hot Left…
