This week has seen a surge of 90’s bands announcing that they are making comebacks, touring and releasing new material.
No Doubt announced that they will be getting back together in 2009 to record a new album via a fake iChat conversation on nodoubt.com
“I think we should go out now, I don’t think we should wait. Pack up the babies and get a bunch of nannies. So fun! Would be so spiriting to get out there and play all those songs again. I think that if we go on tour, it will inspire us to write. I need to see the fans out there,” Gwen Stefani typed in a mock iChat with Tom Dumont (guitar, vocals), Tony Kanal (bass) and Adrian Young (drums, percussion).
Damon Albarn has finally announced that the four original members of Blur will reunite in the studio next year, talking to the BBC he said “Blur are certainly going to rehearse and see if we sound like we used to”. Rumours of a reformation have been circulating for some time but only recently have had more weight behind them when it was made public that Albarn and Graham Coxon had kissed and made up.
Finally Presidents Of The United States Of America have announced they are set to return to UK soil in April of 2009 at Astoria, London after releasing their sixth LP These Are the Good Times People earlier this year.
