Ian Brown to play Isle of Wight Festival

Ian Brown and The Kooks have joined the lineup for next year’s Isle of Wight festival.

Headlining the festival are Kaiser Chiefs, The Police and Sex Pistols, which takes place between July 13 and 15.

Also joining them and the 50, 000 festival goers are NERD, Lilly Allen, The Hoosiers and Scouting for Girls.

It seems that Amy Winehouse’s frenzied tabloid tales of cancelled gigs, wayward health and imprisoned husband have done her no harm in record sales. Her critically acclaimed album, ‘Back to Black,’ was Apple’s online music store’s bestselling downloaded album of the year, the website revealed yesterday.

Unseen Clash memorabilia to be released

An array of unseen memorabilia belonging to Joe Strummer including cartoons and lyrics are to be published in a new book.

His wife, Lucinda Mellor, told The Independent that after the ‘London Calling’ singer’s death five years ago this December, she was going through his personal belongings when she found bags holding the artifacts. The plan is to put all of the material in a book which will be produced in conjunction with artist Damien Hirst.

Postmodern, sadist and testostorone-poisoned games fuel (hold your breath) Harold Pinter’s redo of the 1970 Anthony Shaffer play “Sleuth,” which Kenneth Branagh has used to remake the 1972 Joseph L. Mankiewicz film of the same title (phew!).

Jude Law stars as Milo Tindle, a part-time hairdresser and sometimes actor, who is having an affair with famous novelist, Andrew Wyke, played by Michael Caine who also featured in the 1972 original alongside Laurence Olivier.
