Futureheads Launch New Website

The Futureheads have launched a new - look website to keep you up date with all the latest news, blogs, tour dates, pictures, and videos from the band.

You can also pre - order an exclusive CD/DVD version of the band’s new album, “This Is Not The World“. This special pack, which is due to be released on May 26th, features street performances, full live sets, acoustic shows, interviews, a gig in Ross’ front room, and much more.

The Wave Pictures To Release Debut Album

The Wave Pictures are set to release their debut album, “Instant Coffee Baby”, on May 5th through Moshi Moshi records.

The band, comprising Dave Tattersall, Franic Rozycki and Jonny Helm, have already attracted some impressive press attention, with The Guardian saying “The Wave Pictures are currently conjuring some of the most gleeful, magnificent pop in town” and Time Out saying they have “Extraordinary musical and lyrical confidence”. They also have a fan in the shape of Plan B, who says “They ably knock out classic, literate, oven ready song after song, filled with delightful and intricate musical and lyrical twists”. | Full Article »



Underworld Announce New Radio Shows

UnderworldRick Smith and Karl Hyde of Underworld are set to broadcast a set of shows live on www.underworldlive.com. The shows follow on from the duos stint as stand-in presenters for John Peel when he was on holiday in October 2004. Rough Trade Redesign Logo

Rough Trade have asked their favourite labels, bands and shops to redesign their classic logo, with Full Time Hobby being the first to take on the challenge. The reworks of the logo will feature in a limited edition collection of t - shirts called “Artistic Relations”.

Full Time Hobby is a London - based record label that was set up by Wez and Nigel Adams in 2004, and has been responsible for releases by Tunng, The Hold Steady, Malcolm Middleton and The Accidental, to name but a few. | Full Article »

Durham To Host Unsigned Music Festival

A festival celebrating the best unsigned bands in the North East is to take place in Durham. Grassroutes Festival is a two day event that will take place on the 20th and 21st September this year.

The festival will feature 80 bands playing over the two days, and 40,000 people are expected to attend. In addition to this there will be a number of events taking place before and after the festival that will encourage alcohol - free nights for the under - 20s. | Full Article »



The Mae Shi Announce UK Tour

LA-based experimental collective the Mae Shi are set to return to the UK this May for a 15 date tour. Kanye Announced As Global Headliner

Kanye WestKanye West is set to follow in the footsteps of Moby and Mark Ronson after he was announced as the headliner for this years Global Gathering festival. The show is the only UK festival that West will be appearing at this year.

Guitar Hero III Comes Under Fire From Songwriter

Charles Daniels, who wrote the song “The Devil Went Down To Georgia“, has criticised the makers of Guitar Hero III for including his song on the game. Daniels, who wrote the song in 1979 when he was a member of The Charles Daniels Band, lost his rights to the song in an earlier court settlement. | Full Article »
