Plastic Little, a Philadelphia trio dealing in only marginally less salacious party rap than Spank Rock, opened this NME awards gig in fine style. Like their aforementioned American kin, they combined the energy of Detroit house music with hip hop and threw in some playful rhymes for good measure, at one stage treating the crowd to a couple of lines of “Heaven Knows I’m Miserable Now” over a remix of “I’ve Got The Power” by Snap. Diplo style mash-ups like this were a highlight of their set, with a scintillating booty-call rap to a sample of “Close to Me” by the Cure finally breaking the crowd’s unfair indifference to them. | Full Article »

London based producing duo The Nextmen have been impressing many since releasing their stunning third album ‘This was Supposed To Be The Future’, and with DJ-ing sets at Glastonbury, Big Chill and as residents at Jade Jaggers’ Jezebel Ibiza club nights, their new single is sure to take this talented due to the next level.
The Nextmens’ new single, off third album ‘This Was Supposed To Be The Future’, is a track that would sound perfect played in late-August nights. Sadly for us, it’s now October and summer (or the lack of it) is but a distant memory.

Does It Offend You Yeah? are an interesting four piece, making friend in all the right places as Zane Lowe announces new single ‘Let’s Make Out’ the hottest single in the world!
The Hertford Marquee is a tiny venue and looking at the crowd, I think these kids come for the night, rather then the bands, and their response to support band ‘AutoKratz’ showed just that.

London-based Metronomy are back with hyper-catchy new single ‘Radio Ladio’ from their forthcoming, as-yet-unnamed, second album. ‘Radio Ladio’ is a fantastic piece of electronic dance pop that will no doubt go down a treat on their December tour with CSS.
This track is almost guaranteed to be one of autumn’s anthems and is likely to be played everywhere.
